Oil and Energy Independence

Oil imports for 2011 totaled $453 billion. It is time for Americans to have choices besides oil for transportation. This is why I support Natural Gas. Natural Gas can be used wisely and responsibly. Check out this youtube by T. Boone Pickens https://www.facebook.com/Pickensplan

The Real Cassius Clay

Cassius Marcellus Clay was a statesman and served under both Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses Grant. Cassius Clay was a strong opponent of slavery and greatly involved in the abolitionist movement. He declared, "The Bible, the record of Divine Revelation, is the one book of religion and morals. Of all religious systems the Christian is the most in unison with the law of God and the needs of man. The spirit of God inspires all living things. Jesus Christ is the leading inspiration, and is, therefore Divine."

Iran threatens United States

New sanctions signed into law by U.S. President Barack Obama on New Year's Eve would cut off any financial institutions that work with Iran's central bank from the U.S. financial system, blocking the main path for payments for Iranian oil.

As a result of these sanctions, which are meant to stop Iran from building a nuclear weapon, Iran has threatened to close the Straight of Hormuz. Forty percent of the world's oil supposedly flows through the Straight. The United States says they will keep the Straight open.

Canned vs. Fresh Food

Eating canned food every day may raise the levels of the compound bisphenol A (BPA) in a person's urine more than previously suspected, a new study suggests.
People who ate a serving of canned soup every day for five days had BPA levels of 20.8 micrograms per liter of urine, whereas people who instead ate fresh soup had levels of 1.1 micrograms per liter, according to the study. BPA is found in many canned foods — it is a byproduct of the chemicals used to prevent corrosion.

In a recent Zogby poll, the GOP presidential hopeful surged to an astonishing 20-point lead over former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. It also showed that the former Godfathers Pizza CEO would narrowly edge out Barack Obama in a general election by a 46-44 percent margin.

Fair Trade or Free Trade? Keep Jobs in America!

Barack Obama, with the help of some Republicans who take their orders from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is trying to pass a bill that will kill U.S. jobs, send more jobs overseas, and make more Americans dependent on government handouts. That's the Frances Fox Piven strategy Obama learned at a Socialist Party conference in New York while he was attending Columbia University.

Fort Worth Water and Garbage Rates

I am wondering how does Fort Worth compare to other cities when it comes to Water and Garbage taxes? Of course the city wants to call them rates not taxes, but in all reality there is no difference.

I figured that on my last statement (8/15 - 9?13) my taxes, service charge and fees was 24% of my total bill. As a percentage does that seem high?

The proposed fee for storm water (2012) represents an increase of about 14 percent over the 2011 rate.

Again the two questions are:
1. Is Fort Worth Water and Garbage rates high compared to other cities?

Families, Freedom, Liberty and Truth

The purpose of our government is to protect families, freedoms and their liberties. Our moral, political, and economic liberties are not gifts from the government. It is essential that these liberties be free from restriction over our religious, and political expression, and free from control over our economic choices.
